A tour around Herning Municipality also offers lots of opportunities to experience the extraordinarily beautiful nature. The sights at Præstbjerg Naturcenter are particularly magnificent. Here you will find hilly areas, oaky brushwood, gorgeous lookouts, and little forests and lakes. At Søby Brunkluslejer you can study the dramatic and stunning effect that mining has had on the surrounding landscape. In Skovsnogen Artspace you can combine nature and art by a walk in the forest which is home to more than 80 unique works by renowned artists.

Another must-see in the municipality is Birk where art, culture, education, and business really come together. You can experience world class art in museums such as HEART – Herning Museum of Contemporary Art and Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelts Museum or climb Ingvar Cronhammar’s giant sculpture Elia that has become a trademark for Herning.
